The summer is approaching and I am officially in completely summer mood. To put you in the mood, too, today our post is a recipe for homemade lemonade. What is more refreshing for a hot summer day than a homemade lemonade!!!
You will need:
- 500 ml of fresh lemon juice
- 200 g sugar
- 200 ml of water
- Spearmint leaves
In a saucepan, heat the water and sugar without boiling until the sugar melts. Allow to cool to room temperature. Stir the lemons and add the juice to the water with sugar. Stir well and pour the condensed lemonade into a glass bottle. Keep it in the fridge.
To serve the ratio is 1/3 lemonade and 2/3 cold water. Whether you can directly prepare the lemonade in a large jug (this is what I do, because we usually consume it the same day) or keep the condensed lemonade in the refrigerator and serve it according to the above ratio in a glass whenever you want. For extra fragrance, I put some mint leaves in the jug or glasses, they give very nice aroma, and ice cubes for extra cooling effect.
Most recipes you find on the internet report 500 grams of sugar. I think it’s too much. Besides, I want to feel the lemon. But it depends on each one taste. Also, they are unnecessary calories. So you can experiment with sugar and add the amount that you think is necessary.
Homemade lemonade, refreshing, without much calories, without preservatives and easy prepared. Try it and you will see that it does not compare to another soft drink.
