My favorite dessert for summer (and not only) is frozen yogurt. Because it’s a bit difficult to find tasty frozen yogurt and if you find it is usually quite expensive, I started looking for recipes. I was looking for something easy (of course) and healthy (as much as possible, otherwise I would eat carrots, not ice cream). And I found in pandespani.gr (very interesting cooking blog) this recipe that I will show you below. Easy, delicious and healthy!
You will only need:
- 1 k Greek yogurt full-fat
- 350 g sugar
All you need is to blend the ingredients in a mixer for 10-12 minutes in high speed. At this point, you can add to the mixture gently stirring with a spoon whatever you prefer, nuts, chocolate flakes, and fruits. Pour the mixture into a plastic or metal container and put it in the freezer. To be ready to consume, it definitely takes 3 hours in the freezer. You can find the whole recipe from pandespani.gr here.
I thought not to add any other ingredients in the ice cream so that everyone can make the combination they prefer at the time of serving. Also, what I love in frozen yogurt is the chance it gives you for so many topping combinations. So I have not the heart to limit them! Ha-ha!
These are my 5 favorite toppings:
- Nutella (or generally any chocolate sauce) and strawberry pieces
- Nutella, chopped hazelnuts and oreo cookies
- Chocolate flakes, almonds and gooseberries or blackberries
- Chocolate flakes, pieces of bananas and walnuts
- Homemade plum jam (my mom’s) and almonds
But as I told you, the combinations are inexhaustible… Honey, sesame paste, cereals, homemade jams, fresh or dried fruits, raw, roasted or caramelized nuts… That’s why I like frozen yogurt (I think I told you that again!). Extra tip… Take the ice cream out of the freezer definitely 10 minutes before you serve it.
